“You’re Better than History” was a project exhibited at Adobe Books Backroom Gallery in 2013. Partnering with artist Cameron McPherson, we collected quotes, drawings and doodles from the margins of books from the Adobe Books store. We worked with a local arts educator from the Mission Cultural Center to integrate the texts and images into original designs of papel picado. The papel picado was then hung on banners throughout the store and gallery. The artworks were inspired by the Adobe Books store and its relationship to the local Latino community of the Mission neighborhood in San Francisco where it is located.
